Your old mate reckons the world is going seriously wrong when you have international do-gooder organisations out there telling us what is good for us and what is not.

Apparently health ministers in the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) 169 countries are tossing up whether an existing ban on the promotion of breast-milk substitutes for children under six months should be extended to include products marketed for kids up to three years. The proposed guidance defines substitutes as including “any milk products… in either liquid or powdered form”. The Hound reckons the last thing the dairy industry needs, at the moment, is more challenges – this time over marketing its products for young children. This follows on from WHO’s strange utterence last year about curtailing red meat consumption.
