The Hound would like to know how much Fonterra and its shareholders’ council is paying rugby commentator – and a serial athlete cuddler – Scotty ‘Sumo’ Stevenson to front the dairy co-op’s expensive TV communications?
Fonterra regularly hires a channel from Sky TV and then uses Stevenson to pose scripted and boring questions to its directors and shareholder councillors when it has an announcement on payout or co-op rule changes to make. This old mutt seriously suggests the dairy co-op should actually do some due diligence on Stevenson’s real opinion of farmers, particularly after a recent tweet the rugger boof-head sent out criticising both irrigations and ‘f@$ken farmers’, which was copied to Greenpeace. It seems Sumo is happy to take farmers’ cash, but does not think too much of them. A real own goal by Fonterra.
