This came to light when the Bank of England confirmed there is a trace of tallow in the polymer pellets used in the base substrate of the polymer £5 notes. So far about 60,000 whiners have signed a petition to ban tallow in the manufacture of the notes. “The new £5 notes contain animal fat in the form of tallow,” the whiny vegan petition says. “This is unacceptable to millions of UK vegans and vegetarians.
