This old mutt wonders just how long Massey University can credibly claim to be a pre-eminent learning institution for future agriculture when one of its high-profile academics reckons there is no future in agriculture.
Self-proclaimed expert on NZ water Mike Joy(less) is supposedly a lecturer at Massey – when he’s not pontificating in national and international media about NZ’s poisonous water levels. One of Joy’s recent media headline grabbing stunts saw him proclaiming that NZ will have rid itself of animals by 2050, “because the whole planet has to change and you cannot feed nine billion people if you have animals in the food-chain”. The Hound questions the suitability of any student coming out of Massey for a career in ag if they’ve been indoctrinated by Dr Joy(less).
